Other issues

  • Backing out jMDSW. It needs a config switch and can then reland
  • We are running out of hardware support contract
    • Laura to discuss with Bob today
    • Most machines expire in Jan
    • Some chance we won't be approved $ to replace them
    • Likely options:
      • Run without support
      • Extend support
      • Move to AWS (it's now possible to run HBase on this fwiw)
    • Decoupling this from a change of datastore: insufficient time to do that as well. Note that if we move to AWS it will make us more agile in this respect
  • We have a problem with our HBase rowkeys
    • Need to rewrite all the data
    • May hold on this until we move to whatever since we'll be moving data anyway
  • We need to failover PostgreSQL [sheeri]
    • Need a procedure
    • Needs to be outside BH

  • Then, the commander script needs to be added to the repo and its functionality moved up into python
